When we arrived in Minnesota, our suitcase broke somewhere in transit. I didn't mind too much, as it was a cheap suitcase which we purchased over 5 years ago. It has been everywhere- St. Thomas, Las Vegas, Isla, Minnesota to Seattle and back again a few times. I knew it was time to get a new one anyway. Also, Matt only had the medium sized case, which we had to upgrade also. So, while in MN, I ventured to Kohl's with my 30% off coupon and purchased 2 more cases for $100 each, or $140 after the coupon. While doing so, I also picked up a few other things.
Well, Kohl's had a deal called Kohl's cash. For every $50 you spend, you get $10 to spend the following week. I managed to get a total of $30 to spend.
Once we got home, I did NOT want to go back to Kohl's, but I knew it would be stupid for me not to. I am glad I did, because this is what I got: 6 shirts for myself, and 4 things for Annika (2 pajamas, one shirt and a jacket). I did have to cough up a whopping $9.99 out of pocket, but some of that was tax. I scoured the clearance racks, and granted, most of what I got are basic shirts, but they are good for layering and summer fare. I tallied up the price tags and if I would have paid full price for it all, plus tax it would have been over $200. What a deal!

Tax?!? There is no sales tax on clothing in good ol' MN!
Nice! Yeah bummer on the tax - :) I've done some shopping down here in Florida and paying tax on clothes is odd. Of course they don't pay income tax and their sales tax is somewhere around 6% so it's not too bad.
Yeah, the tax on clothing really sucks...about 9.5% or so...argh! but we have no income tax either, so I guess it evens out.
If I really wanted to make a big purchase I could just run to oregon (2-3 hours away) where they have no tax!
