Time to say goodbye...

Melissa left today :( We are all very sad, but I think Annika took it the hardest. She was very happy to have a playmate for the last few days--she had a lot of fun with her! Melissa having 2 girls herself, knew exactly what to do to get Annika revved!

We had a really good visit! As mention in the last posting, we went to Pike Market on Sunday and on Monday Matt and her went to the Underground Tour--a lot of fun! Yesterday we didn't really have a plan, but got in the car and went exploring. And that we did! We decided to drive up to Snoqualmie pass, which we heard reports on the news of --eek!--snow! And that there was! It was really pretty! We also saw some peaks of the Cascades. It was really neat to go exploring--I have never been that far east from here (in a car anyhow). The thing I thought was the coolest is that as you are increasing in elevation, you can actually see the freeze line! In the picture below, if you look close enough, you can see it too!

On the way home, we stopped at Snoqualmie Falls. Always a beautiful place to stop at, it didn't let us down! The only hard thing about it was with the large amounts of rain we have gotten recently, the falls were out of control! On the observation deck, we all got very wet from the mist! But it was worth the stop!

Today, we all laid pretty low. Annika was exceptionally feisty; no doubt knew that her playmate was going to leave. At 4, we took Melissa to the airport.
Having Melissa here was great! We all loved having her, and invite her and her family to come back any time!
P.S. Check out the many new pics in both the "Fall 2009" and "Brooke 1 month" albums!
