This past Wednesday, I felt daring, and took Annika to her first dentist appointment. I successfully got her excited to go with the idea of a new toothbrush--after all, she is obsessed with toothbrushes.
Although I figured the appointment would not be very productive, I figured it wouldn't hurt to get her acquainted with the surroundings. She LOVED the waiting room....a whole little corner made for little ones...she loved digging out all the toys. If it was up to her, we would have played there all day.
However, it went downhill as soon as they called her name. We proceeded to the room with the chair (and TV!), but she refused to sit on the chair....despite trying to get her to sit on my lap, showing her the coolness of it going up and down, you name it, we did it. This was the closest she got to it--note you don't even see the chair in the pic:
The hygienist got as far as being able to count her teeth from afar--but that was it. But, as promised, Annika got her new toothbrush.
We will attempt another appointment in a few months....
