Matt's birthday was yesterday! To celebrate, I asked him what he wanted for dinner-anything-be it take out, going out or me cooking. What did he pick? McDonalds. Yes, McDonalds. Whatever; it made it easy for me! We are still planning on a night out on Friday, so we will have his birthday dinner then.
Annika gave her Daddy a brand new travel mug, as his last one broke, and some coffees. This coincided with the coffee maker I gave Matt-an upgrade from the one we had. This one came with a programmable timer; perfect for his early morning brew. When Matt opened his new appliance, he was so excited to plug it in and get it all set up! So excited, in fact, that he whipped it out of its box and the carafe went flying! Needless to say, a large smash followed, and the carafe was in many pieces. Poor Matt, he looked like Christmas was stolen from him.
After a return trip to Target today, all is better and Matt is now in the process of setting up his coffee maker for his early morning wake up tomorrow. This time, however, he insisted that I took it out of the box for him and unwrap it!
Ahhh...funny memories! Matt is also grateful for all the cards and gifts he received in the mail - so unexpected, but nice! Thank you, everyone! I believe Matt is going to go shopping for a new wardrobe with the proceeds...and perhaps a back up carafe....
