Annika seemed to have a great first day at her new (temporary) daycare! Although her mommy and Daddy wondered about her all day, she had a blissfully entertaining time with her new surroundings. According to the daycare provider, Annika was very interactive and excited to be able to explore new areas.
I got home after Matt and I did, and lo and behold, she seemed indifferent to her Mommy. Of course she smiled at me (as she always does to everyone), but went right back to playing with her toys. Although she tries to act like a tough cookie, I know she missed her mommy! On the contrary, however, it was VERY evident she missed Athena. She chased Athena all over the apartment, and when she managed to catch up her, she would crawl up to her and lay beside her! It is really cute! Athena, however, only tolerates her about 1/4 of the time. Poor cat--we don't give her a lot of room to hide, as we usually have to shut all the doors so the Crazy Crawler doesn't get into too much. We also purchased a baby gate, to keep the little Monster out of the kitchen and the cat's food. Unfortunately, this also hinders Athena's ability to get to her food! Oh well, we know that Athena enjoys all the lovin' she gets from Annika!
Hope everyone had a nice start to the week! I was given the nice welcome of over 700 emails upon my return to work. Argh!
