Some day, Annika is going to rule the world! I swear, I saw it in her eyes as we viewed the city of Seattle! Yesterday, we all loaded up in the car and went to the Needle. It was a cloudy out, so we didn't really see any mountains...but as before, the view was breathtaking! We had a lot more luck than when Sarah and Natalie were here--there was no wait, and we went right up! The Bjorn worked very nicely, and Annika seemed to enjoy it..after all, she had to view the world that she is going to conquer some day! (And don't worry...even though it may look like it, I was not pulling a "Michael Jackson" and dangling my baby! We are still behind the hand rail, and there was plexiglass there--I assure you, she was safe!)
After we went to the Needle, we managed to find the Fremont Troll. It is an 18 foot tall sculpture under a bridge in the trendy (almost uptown-ish) neighborhood of Seattle. Annika thought it was a rather unexciting sight, so she decided to stay in the car and sleep (as Grandma and Mom took turns staying with her).
We had a good day--out and about. Needless to say, we were all pretty tired at the end of it. However, the Grands wanted to watch Annika (and bake AWESOME cookies!) while Matt and I went out on a date. It was nice to relax (we went to a movie), but we missed Annika so much!
P.S. Check out all the pics in "Labor Day Weekend 2008" album!
