Happy Valentine's Day!

Our little Valentine received a Valentine package the other day! She received a book, a stuffed giraffe and a box of chocolates (for Mommy and Daddy), which was a Love Bug ladybug! So fitting! She loves it all!
We had quite a day yesterday! Annika was a true sport, she came with us to the realty office and viewed 5 houses with her Mommy and Daddy! It was exhausting! We are still going to look some more; we saw a couple that sparked our interest. It was nice to see what was out there. Unfortunately, most of the houses on the market right now are either foreclosures or short sales. This basically equates to not being turnkey, which would be a bit difficult for us.
We did see a few brand new ones in a new development which seemed interesting.... We did not look at any house that was more than 7 years old, and one good thing is that ALL of them have the laundry room on the second floor with all the bedrooms! Such a great idea - can't believe it wasn't standard sooner!
There are a few oddities about Washington homes. In every home it is required to have a central air exchange fan. Basically, because of the moisture here, houses have to exchange their air a minimum of 2 times a day, so every house is equipped with a big elaborate air flow system. Another thing is the water heater must be strapped twice to a wall, a minimum 18 inches off the floor. This is for earthquake protection. Strange, but I suppose...
Anyway, we plan on going out again in a few weeks, and our appetites have definitely been whetted for a new abode!
