Last night we had an invitation to visit some friends of ours, Pat and Shelley, in Carnation, WA. Me, having a little cabin fever with little interaction outside of Matt and the Cat, decided we should go. So, I whipped out my trusty Garmin and off we went! I love the Garmin...it is like another seat beat, it makes me feels safe and secure...it is my safety blanket! But, alas, the trusty Garmin had issues finding a satellite. GRR! I mean, come on, we may live in under layers and more layers of clouds, but come on! It really didn't take long, and the Garmin managed to find its way--problem #1 diverted!
Carnation is about 1/2 hour away, in a direction Matt and I have not traveled before. It was pretty cool..although it was dark and rainy out, we were able to make out some HUGE mountainous territory. WOW! I have been a lot of places, but it has been a long time since I have been that up close to mountains. They were breathtaking! I want to go back during the day!
Anyway, as we made our way to Pat and Shelley's, we were climbing in elevation...didn't really notice until I spotted something strange and uninviting on the side of the road: this white stuff called....snow?! Alright, alright, I know it has only been a week since I have been in the white abyss of MN, but it just seemed odd. I felt violated--there was not supposed to be snow so close to me! Okay, okay, really, it wasn't more than a little dusting...but ick!
With the nice help of Garmmy, we owned the winding, twisting, out-in-the-middle of nowhere roads, and got to Pat and Shelley's road. Due to my over calculation, we overshot the driveway, and drove into what seemed like a dark, tunnel, surrounded with lots of trees and vegetation. It would have looked cool if it wasn't pitch black....they are literally in the middle of nowhere--no streetlights, no nothing! Blair Witch! And then, my loving husband starts talk of Sasquatches! ACK! This is big foot country! Scary! Scary!
Yes, I know, I know these things probably don't exist, but I am sorry...stuff like that scares the poo out of me! Aliens, Big Feet, you name it; I may be a war vet, blah, blah blah, but I am still a chicken sh*t-- I am a huge wimp! I proceeded to make sure the doors are locked and I am belted in for safety. All the while, Matt was making fun of me (which I guess was rightfully so).
We (thankfully) got to Pat and Shelley's and proceeded to have a pleasant evening, playing Wii and catching up on things. Shelley is five months pregnant, and looks fabulous--so it was great to talk to her; and Matt and Pat are just too much alike, being geeks and all. A great time was had, and we had a lot of fun...but there was that burning feeling the Harry (of the famed Harry and the Hendersons) was staring in from the outside. Pat even said there are websites of people who post Sasquatch sightings in that area. ARGH!
Of course we did not see any Harrys, nor will we probably ever. But seriously, if you believe in them, they will come, right? KEEP THEM AWAY!

Bambie, you are too much. Thanks for keeping the rest of the world updated. If you have any Yeti sitings ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeti ) Let me know. I think he still has a pair of my boots.
Love you both,
Cuzzy Terry
Yeah, the sad thing is, if you guys came across the Yeti, Matt would be so excited he would pass out and leave you without a "strong" man to defend you. Good thing for your Army training!
LOL!!!!! Sarah, you are too funny!
